"I began to realise that when a girl is looking at the sky, she's not looking for anything. She's just lonely." I don't feel any great emotion when I look back at these works; now, they seem rather lacking but as I interrogate who I was I feel a sense of peaceful acceptance. Life is a process that must be followed in proper sequence: we learn everything step by step; from emotion through reflection to insight. Yet on the journey of my own life, after passing time in different places, and enjoying the scenery along the way, the only thing I feel after all these trips is a feeling of emptiness. Beauty exists everywhere, whether it be in chaos or simplicity. Sometimes beauty may reside most in the stubborn or the uninhibited, or in the modest and gentle. All these versions of beauty are aspects of a complete human nature. Compared with the views of powerful people, the words of a 'nobody' mean nothing at all. Literary works always fall short: the words put down by the writer are ultimately only connected to her own life. But even as inadequate individuals, we may try to explore and reach a better understanding of the world around us, and try to live according to that understanding in the hope of making further progress on our journeys. Only through what we have learned along the way can we penetrate the fog of words and pass through all the controversies and changes in our lives.
